One of Sawtell’s most popular BBQ & picnic spots. It features undercover electric barbeques, toilet facilities, picnic tables & bench, a children’s playground & ample parking. It’s conveniently located near Bonville Creek, a favourite spot for swimming and fishing.
Boambee Creek Reserve, located at the southern end of Boambee Beach (accessible via Sawtell Road), is a popular spot for locals with young children. The reserve features shallow waters ideal for smaller kids, along with a playground for added fun. It’s a great spot for picnics, offering BBQs, shelters, and takeaway food options. Convenient beach showers and toilet facilities are also available.
A small parking fee applies at the reserve. For those who enjoy fishing or walking, a pedestrian bridge beneath the rail bridge provides easy access to the southern end of Boambee Beach. Boambee Headland is also an excellent location for whale watching during the winter and spring months.
