Sawtell Main Beach

Sawtell Main Beach is just across the street from the Beach Shacks and is home to the Sawtell Surf Club. The beach is patrolled daily during most of the summer, making it a popular spot for surfing, swimming, and fishing.

A viewing platform and a grassy area provide the perfect setting for picnics and soaking up the sun. The Sawtell Surf Club Café offers delicious food and refreshments, and there are convenient shower and toilet facilities available for beachgoers.

Sawtell Rock Pool

Sawtell Memorial Rock Pool is unique to the Coffs Harbour area. It is the only ocean pool in the region and it offers a family friendly, protected swimming facility for the community and visitors alike.

The pool is protected from the strong permanent rip that runs out past the pool and is ideal for summer bathing. Whether you are a daily swimmer after a pool to do laps in, or a family, looking for some safe, recreational fun, the Sawtell Memorial Rock pool is definitely worth the visit.

Murrays Beach

North of Sawtell Main beach, is Murray’s Beach. This unpatrolled beach is dog-friendly, allowing dogs on a leash. Very popular with early morning walkers, it’s a great place to free the mind & enjoy some quiet time.

Boambee Creek Reserve

Boambee Creek Reserve, located at the southern end of Boambee Beach (accessible via Sawtell Road), is a popular spot for locals with young children. The reserve features shallow waters ideal for smaller kids, along with a playground for added fun. It’s a great spot for picnics, offering BBQs, shelters, and takeaway food options. Convenient beach showers and toilet facilities are also available.

A small parking fee applies at the reserve. For those who enjoy fishing or walking, a pedestrian bridge beneath the rail bridge provides easy access to the southern end of Boambee Beach. Boambee Headland is also an excellent location for whale watching during the winter and spring months.

Boambee Beach &Estuary

Boambee Beach extends from Coffs to Boambee Creek (north of Sawtell). The beach is not patrolled though popular with fishermen, horse trainers, joggers, jet-ski riders, four wheel drive enthusiasts, and dogs are allowed on the beach off the leash.
